Flame Oz is just one of the many acts that'll grace Victoria during The International Buskers Festival.

With the International Buskers Festival in town, there’s no shortage of entertainment in downtown Victoria this week.

Big, Wet, Mammal Day – Otters, mink, beaver and muskrats, they’re all animals that make their home in Swan Lake. Discover what it takes to be at home in a watery world. Crafts, games, songs and touchable stuff. THURSDAY noon at Swan Lake Nature Sanctuary (3873 Swan Lake). By donation/crafts $3. 250-479-0211.

Fundraising Fête – Enjoy an evening of appetizers and auctions to help raise funds for Beverly Dondale’s film, Hostage Diner. THURSDAY 6-10pm at Cabin 12 (607 Pandora). Free. 250-590-1500.

International Buskers Festival – A family oriented event featuring busker acts from Australia, the US, Europe, and across Canada. FRIDAY-SUNDAY. Free.

Pruning Workshops – The BC Fruit Testers Association and Royal Roads University invite the public to learn more about summer pruning techniques and tree maintenance. Pruning 10am-noon. Budding & tree maintenance 12:30-1:30pm. All SATURDAY at Royal Roads University Orchard (2005 Sooke). Free. 250-656-0815.

Ford’n’Friends – Autoshow and picnic. Bring the kids and enjoy the whole day exploring the many attractions. SUNDAY 9am-4pm at Heritage Acres (7321 Lockside). $7. 250-479-4563.

Victorian’s are in for a treat this week. Foodie fun abounds, whether your into fine dining or prudent potlucks, there’s plenty to sample. You can even learn how to grow your own! how’s that for DIY?

Dine Around Town – Step out and rediscover Victoria. Local participating restaurants offer three-course menus for $20, $30, $40 per person and are all paired with BC VQA wine suggestions. This year, celiac-friendly menus available. THURSDAY to March 6.

Planning Your Food Garden – Come learn about how easy it is to grow a vegetable garden all year round. Twelve month workshop with Amy Crook. THURSDAY 7-9pm at the Lifecycles office (625 Hillside). $20.

Seedy Saturday – The place for vegetable, flower and herbs seeds direct from local growers, with fruit and nut trees, native and specialty plants and more. The show includes food and garden products, Seed Exchange, Master Gardeners, displays and demos, kids’ activities, free speaker talks.
