Looking for one more memorable Fringe show this year? Don’t miss this last-minute special fundraiser with Chris Gibbs in Gibberish. It’s a “best of” stand-up show featuring the incomparable comic talents of Gibbs—who, if you’ve ever seen his collected works (Antoine Feval, Like Father Like Son? Sorry, The Power of Ignorance), will indeed have a lot of “best” material to share.

Gibberish (pronounced with a hard ‘G’) is a combination of the award-winning performer’s best stand-up comedy routines incorporating acrobatics, hilarious observational stand-up comedy and meta-theatrical antics. The British-born Gibbs is best-known for his award-winning, one-man comedy shows, was a regular guest on NBC’s comedy series Howie Do It and has played at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal. Gibberish has played to sell-out houses in many Canadian fringes, winning Best of the Fest at Winnipeg Fringe, and gathering stellar praise from reviewers across the country.

Gibbs, who has been quite outspoken about the recent BC arts cuts in his various stage shows, is very kindly donating his time for this special performance. “Chris Gibbs has been an incredible supporter of Intrepid Theatre for many years and a firm Victoria Fringe and Uno Fest favourite,” says Intrepid Theatre artistic producer Janet Munsil. All funds from Saturday’s performance will go to the non-profit theatre organisation Intrepid Theatre, hosts of the Victoria Fringe Festival. Find out more about Chris at . . . or go see Antoine Feval.

Gibberish runs 8 p.m. Saturday September 4 at Langham Court Theatre. Tickets are $20, and are available at or by phone at 250-383-2663.
