Bring your picnic blanket and an appetite for fun this week as Victoria heads outdoors.

Go Bananas Scavenger Hunt – Wear yellow and go bananas at your library with a scavenger hunt. Get ready to search the library for hidden clues and receive a sweet treat at the end. For ages 6-9. Registration required. THURSDAY 10:30-11:30am at the GVPL, Central Saanich Branch (1209 Clarke). Free.

Five Hole for Food – Bring a hockey stick and a good pair of running shoes, and join in playing some good, fun, safe hockey. Please bring food and cash donations to help the Victoria Mustard Seed Food Bank. FRIDAY noon-6pm at the Save-On-Foods Grocery Store parking lot (3500 Blanshard). Free.

Navigation on the High Seas – Join staff from the Maritime Museum of BC to get the inside scoop on using the quadrant, the sextant and the stars to sail around the world. Make a navigational tool you can take home with you to do your own exploring. Ages 10-12. Register required. FRIDAY 2:30-3:30pm at the GVPL, Central Branch (735 Broughton). Free.

Water Garden Tour – A self-guided tour of some of the areas finest water gardens. Proceeds support project in Africa. SATURDAY 10am-4pm at various locations throughout Victoria. $25. For more information, visit

Belfry Open House Picnic – Explore the bell tower of Christ Church Cathedral as the Bellringers celebrate the 75 years since the bells were hung. SATURDAY 1:30-3:30pm at Christ Church Cathedral (930 Burdette). Free. 250-383-2714.

Pride Festival – After the Prie parade, enjoy a beer garden hosting its very own stage, nibble on some delicious treats from one of our 100+ vendors, learn more about the local GLBTQ community at Pride House, or partake in the 50ft long obstacle course hosted in the Kids Camp. Also featuring the foreskin awareness booth. Pride parade SUNDAY noon on Goverment, starting at Pandora. Pride Festival 1pm at MacDonald Park. Free.

Food Fiesta – Great food and entertainment for all! Noon-4pm at the Bayanihan Community Centre (1709 Blanshard). $7.
Combing the Coast Launch Party – Art auction, raffle prizes, local short films and a chance to sign up for the Chapter’s “Combing the Coast” monthly beach clean ups in the Greater Victoria Area. SUNDAY 7pm at the Canoe Club (450 Swift). Free.
